Youth Group – Holiday Feast
December 3 6:30 - 8:30 pm
Northview Community Church
During 2nd service, we meet in the auditorium for worship, then go upstairs to the Youth Room to talk about what following Jesus means as middle schoolers and high schoolers.
Our Youth Community, both High School and Middle School, get together every Tuesday. We use these evenings as a place to begin friendships with peers and relationships with adults that are willing to love and mentor them.
The night starts with an optional game, moves to a small teaching or worship, then we spend the majority of our time in small groups. Currently, our groups are divided by grade and sex. We teach Jesus and His ways with the goal of our youth community actually living and loving like Jesus.
Ignition – a discipleship-focused weekend for middle school and high school students to gather together and receive focused teaching, instruction, and application on key pillars within the Christian faith.
Winter Missional Trip – a weekend working with local organizations that aid the houseless in our communities. A unique opportunity for students to practice living like Jesus and doing what He did.
Youth Camp – a week-long summer camp experience designed to welcome incoming 6th graders, grow closer as a Youth community, and learn about Jesus, His ways, and His vision for God’s Kingdom here on Earth.

Teach them — to do — all I taught you. Matthew 28:20
Jesus came to earth and lived a (short) lifetime. He taught and discipled for three years before his death and resurrection. Then he ended it with these last words: teach them to do all I taught you. A paraphrase: “I discipled you: I gave you my mind, my heart, my life, and my ways. Now it’s your turn to teach others in such a way that they practice what they learn.”
Because of Jesus, our heartbeat is a loving discipleship. We hope that whenever we gather, it’s creating a soil in which discipleship can begin and grow. We want to create relationships between youth and the adults that care enough to come beside our youth to teach them about Jesus and His ways. It’s what Jesus called discipleship. Our gatherings are not to the end of discipleship; they are the launch pad for discipleship.
Our youth don’t need more people teaching them the right ideas. Teaching is amazing, Jesus was a teacher(!), but increasingly, our youth need people caring for them enough to come beside them, bare their burdens with them, and show them Jesus’ ways in action. We need to see people living these teachings out! This is discipleship as seen by Jesus. We aim to join parents in this endeavor.
