Do you have a pastor’s heart and a passion for worship? Do you believe that the Seattle area is one of the greatest mission fields in the world? Are you passionate about seeing the Holy Spirit empower ordinary people to continue the work of Jesus in building His Kingdom?
If so, we invite you to prayerfully consider joining our team at Northview Community Church.
Who We Are
Northview is a missional family, planted with the purpose of reaching the lost and hurting in Mill Creek and beyond. We are not a “one-stop-shop” church focused on consumer-driven programs or pep-rally hype. We are a body committed to being formed into the image of Christ and living and loving like Him. Our vision is simple and unwavering: to rely on the power of the Holy Spirit as we step out of our comfort zones, care for the vulnerable, and make disciples.
We are committed to the messy but beautiful calling of being one body where people from diverse cultural, theological, and political backgrounds learn to sacrificially love one another amidst the tensions as we journey towards Jesus together.
This creates a community where deep, genuine bonds are forged, and we fully expect to see lives powerfully transformed, healed, and made whole.
The Role
We are seeking a Worship & Creative Arts Pastor, not just a music director. This is a shepherding role for a leader, male or female, who will pastor our congregation and creative teams into a deeper experience of God’s presence. You will be a key spiritual leader, responsible for shaping the culture of our church and creatively telling the story of what God is doing in our midst. Your goal isn’t to perform, but to create space for our church family to encounter the living God.
You’ll lead us in celebrating God, but you’ll also champion the creative arts (video, design, storytelling) as essential tools for sharing God’s love with a world that desperately needs it. For the right candidate, we are open to making adjustments for a part-time role.
What You’ll Do
Worship & Service Curation
• Lead Spirit-filled Worship: Pastorally lead the congregation in vibrant worship that blends modern worship with the rich diversity of both contemporary songs and those of the past and values God’s presence over performance.
• Collaborate on Service Design: Work closely with the Senior Pastor to prayerfully design worship services where the music, prayer, scripture, and creative elements seamlessly support the sermon’s message and the movement of the Holy Spirit.
• Develop Special Gatherings: In partnership with staff and volunteers, create unique worship experiences for holidays, prayer nights, and other special events.
Team Shepherding & Development
• Pastor the Team: Recruit, schedule, mentor, and spiritually shepherd our volunteer vocalists, musicians, and tech crews. This is about discipleship, not just filling a roster.
• Cultivate a Servant Culture: Foster a healthy, joyful, and humble team environment where volunteers are equipped, encouraged, and empowered to use their gifts.
• Raise Up Leaders: Intentionally identify and train up others, equipping them to lead worship, serve in other ministries, or be sent out to serve God’s Kingdom elsewhere.
Creative Arts & Storytelling
• Lead Digital Presence: Manage the church’s social media strategy, shaping a digital presence that reflects our authentic community, tells stories of life-change, and communicates our mission.
• Oversee Production & Livestream: Oversee all technical aspects of the service—including sound, lighting, presentation software (Pro Presenter), and the online livestream—to create a seamless environment for worship both in-person and online.
• Expand Creative Expression: Champion and integrate various creative elements into our gatherings and outreach, including video, stage design, and other visual arts to tell the stories of life-change within our church.
• Support All Ministries: Provide creative & worship support for other ministry areas (Kids, Youth, etc.), ensuring a cohesive spirit of worship throughout Northview.
Who You Are
Your Heart & Character
• You have a vibrant, growing, personal relationship with Jesus, marked by a deep commitment to prayer and holiness.
• You live a life of listening and obeying the Holy Spirit’s leading, even when it requires moving beyond your comfort zone.
• You are humble, teachable, and your identity is found in Christ, not on a platform.
• You have a pastor’s heart, with a genuine love for people and a desire to see them grow in their faith.
• You have a missional mindset, with a passion for reaching those who don’t know Jesus, right here in the Pacific Northwest.
Your Skills & Experience
• Demonstrated ability to lead worship from a primary instrument with strong vocal talent.
• A relaxed, authentic, and engaging pastoral presence on the platform that draws people in, rather than just putting on a show.
• Proven experience in recruiting, developing, and shepherding volunteer teams.
• Ability to craft a worship experience that is theologically rich and musically accessible to a multi-generational congregation.
• Working knowledge of modern worship technology, including sound systems, lighting, social media platforms, and presentation software.
